The Job Search Season

Evening everybody!

Here I am again with an unplanned post.

The Holy Spirit led me into writing this post after rereading Jeff’s testimony (check out previous post).

We are currently in the season where we have fresh graduates (congratulations y’all! Woo!) who are looking for jobs. We also have those non degree and degree holders who are still looking to have that breakthrough into that career. We also have those who are just looking for a job or stagnate in the same position or in that same job that has nothing to do with what you really want.

DO NOT GIVE UP! GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU. JUST TRUST IN HIM

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me“- (Philippians 4:13)

…rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer...”- (Romans 12:12)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; And lean not on your own understanding“- (Proverbs 3:5)

To all of the above PLEASE meditate on those scriptures and read “D’s (my) words of encouragement” at this link… I mean… actually after you read my story, my very old testimony – sorry Lord!

It’s was 9 months after I graduated before I got my first job. I was initially introduced to the organisation where I had to work voluntarily. I had favour and was given a job role within that same organisation that kind of complimented my studies. No application, no interview. Just favour.

A few months down the line, due to rules and regulations, it was made known to me I had to go through the standard procedure of actually applying for the job. As the Lord would have it, I was just made to do just the interview, which was appalling, rubbish, disgusting! BUT once again did I have favour. My immediate manager fought my corner and I remained in the job.

The job came with series of testimonies.

I was paid £3000 more than the person I replaced.

The boss allowed me to take consecutive days off to complete a course that I wanted to do (to get that knowledge lol).

The way the course got paid was a miracle.

Despite the pressure from the workplace and those deadlines…I still managed to get good results.

Although, there were times I would complain about the job, I know the Lord put me there for a reason. He put me there to give me the tools to prepare for my next adventure. Through the job the Lord revealed to me that I was no dull lady, it told me I was sharp, thought outside the box and a hard worker. However, through the job the Lord also taught me patience and some of other characteristics to becoming a good mother/wife in future.

Although the job role was not in line (to the point) with my studies, I know that it was just a pit stop, I was just collecting what I needed to pursue my career, my purpose, my ministry, my destiny.

So what am I saying? Fresh graduates, those looking for a career breakthrough and those looking for a job, in prayer be specific in the job role you want. But do not be too picky with the opportunities presented before you, if you find a job that is somewhat similar to what you want and can still lead you into your career, your purpose – go for it! Just be sure you pick up courses to refresh your knowledge and keep applying for jobs too. Yes I did say trust in Him but you have be active too.

Now to those who have been in the same position for a long time. What I have written above applies to you too, but have you thought about whether God has kept you there for a reason? There could be someone there that needs you. Do you know if someone there at the same level that needs to know about Jesus. Have you fulfilled your purpose within that job role? Have you developed yourself? What good characteristics have you gained that you can take with you to your next destination, your next adventure?

God is aware of where you’re at, He knows where you’re going and He knows why he has put you there now. Trust Him.

Smile lol
